My name is Loki and I am really a sweet guy and great with cats, kids, and small dogs. I don't bark much except at people approaching my Foster home, or dogs walking across the street but only if my Foster brother is barking at them too. Like most Danes, I have to get my loving. I am the very definition of a velcro dog and will follow you everywhere. I like to lie with you on the bed or the couch, and if you get up to go anywhere I have to come too. I do have mild anxiety when you leave me at home and will whine/whimper but I am NOT destructive in any way, and I will just wait for you by the door and show you how happy I am when you return.

I am gentle when taking treats, and do not really engage in play with the other dogs in the house but when I do I am fairly calm and don't roughhouse like so many other Danes do. I am perfectly content just lounging and watching you all day long but love it if you give me pats on the head and ear scratches and just make it known that I am cared for. I was found abandoned in the desert so this explains my need for affection, and just showing me that you won't abandon me too gives me the encouragement I need. I am good on a leash and I like to lead but I don't actually PULL, and I don't seem to get distracted by dogs barking or other animals moving around - I like to glance their way but I won't pull towards them or make any noise indicating interest in them.
