Hi, my name is Otis! My rescue family found me at a shelter and think I am about 4-5 years old. Before I was found, I was roaming the streets for who knows how long. When the rescue got to me they found me underweight, with pressure sores, ticks and limping on my front leg. I was taken to a vet, treated and brought to a foster home where I currently reside. I took to my foster mom very quickly and love to follow her around the house. I also love sunbathing next to her outside while she drinks her coffee in the mornings. Most times you'll find me leaning up against her and nuzzling her arm demanding she pet me. I do need time and a calm environment to get to know you and gain trust. I am great at free roaming the house alone. I don't destroy things, I’m potty trained and counter surfing isn't for me. I enjoy napping and chewing on my bone most of the day while my foster mom is away at work. I do need to work on learning some basic commands but come when called and I understand no and sit. Since being rescued, I have gained weight and I’m off all medication! I still have a limp, but it doesn't hinder me from running in the backyard and enjoying play time. I get along with other dogs, but not with cats. I also just found out I am terrified of stairs so a single story house would be best for me.
