Hi, my name is August and I am a 9-month-old male Blue/Chocolate Brindle Dane mix. My foster mom thinks I’m mixed with a Weimaraner but others think it might be Chocolate lab, but no one knows for sure. My foster mom drove all the way to California to rescue me from a shelter. I was left there because I have HODS, also known as: Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy. I guess I shouldn’t have had puppy food as my diet like they gave me because it affected my joints as I was growing. But don’t worry, after some much-needed rest, and some anti-inflammatory meds I am almost good as new. My foster mom reassured me that I will grow out of it soon enough. I am good with other dogs, but don’t like when other doggies are overly playful in the beginning. I’m a very shy boy and need time to adjust to new dogs and people. I love children, but sometimes I get a little nervous when they get loud. But I’ve never growled or snapped at my very energetic little foster 4-year-old boy as I love him dearly. I’m good in a kennel, and potty trained, but sometimes have accidents if I’m not let out at night. My mom says that I am the “chillest” puppy she’s ever seen. I like to play but enjoy laying around and cuddling just as much. Because I am such a shy boy, my foster mom says I will need a family that has another doggie as I am still learning and watching everything my other foster brothers and sister do, and probably wouldn’t do well as an only dog. I promise to be a good boy for whoever can find room in their heart and home to love me!
